Got the same call, definitely a scam. I looked it up on irs.gov and it says the IRS would never call without sending you a written notice in the mail first. Also, if you paid taxes last year you have nothing to worry about anyway.
I received this same message on my answering machine last night. At first I was horrified...then
I knew it was a scam because they never gave a name of who was being sued by the IRS. Also if it was real the IRS would contact you via the POST with a certified letter, not just leave a message. I just hope no old person gets this message and does not know better...and gets scammed!!! People are ridiculous, how they pray on ignorance and fear!!!
Message left that we were being sued by IRS. Called back and man with heavy accent tried to get my name to"look up what the suit was about" I hung up after telling him he us fraudulently harassing people.
