Automated message supposedly from IRS, stating they are filing a lawsuit - call them back on 202 817 4524. Called back and message said unable to take call at present.
(202) 817-4524 Caller I.D. Said Washington, D. C. A female voice, (although, I think it was a computer-generated voice) called in the morning to tell me we were being sued by the I.R.S. I knew it was a scam and didn't call back. Later in the afternoon, the "woman" called back and actually identified herself as the I.R.S. and informed me it was my "final notice and warning" to get in touch with them.
Have received multiple calls from this number stating that they have a grant for me (that I never applied for) and all they need is for me to pay the shipping and handling charges (they need my credit card number to process this small shipping fee - Yeah, right). I asked them not to contact me any more. They called back today and when I asked if they were the grant company that wasn't supposed to call me any more, the caller yelled, "f*** you, [***]!" and hung up. If they call again, I'm turning my phone records over to the fraud department of my county and state police force and filing an official complaint.
