I also received phone call from Shawn Marshall, and he said that there was a "miscalculation error" in my taxes, between the years 2008 thru 2013. I should pay $6125.00 now, unless he will process the legal action as criminal charge. He also said that his badge # is 9875017. The story was exact same as yours, but the phone # received was different. Mine was 504-558-3001. I checked internet, and I found the number at IRS Louisiana office, LA Taxpayer Advocate. I think he is using fake caller ID using a kind of software to hide original his number.
same thing here :) but my uncle received same call from Shawn Marshall , what so funny he told him same amount $6125 to pay now or he is going to jail in 45 min hahahahhaha . so i called them and pretended to be FBI agent . he SH*T his pants his voice was shaking hahahahah i had fun by [***]*** with those Indians
I'm not sure what this call was concerning because it was a pre-recorded message that I'm assuming started when my voicemail picked up, but the last part of the pre-recorded message said to contact them to avoid being summoned to a grand jury or having to appear before a federal magistrate. Needless to say, I didn't believe it and it's obviously a scam.
I'm surprised they are still using this number for scams after 5 years. Is there no attempt to prosecute these people? My Google Voice number was called by these people. Said they were federal agents and this was their last attempt to contact me to resolve an issue by talking with a federal agent before going in front of a "magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense." If I had done something I was afraid of, I might have been upset by it, I guess that's one benefit of a clear conscience. They left this callback number, which was the same as the caller ID number
