Just called me today from Washington, DC. Of course I didn't answer, and of course they didn't leave a message. In other words, it's some telemarketer that wants me to give them money. Not gonna happen....
Caller ID says "DAVID SILVER". They leave no message. I found nothing on this site or on the net for this number. On 800notes "DAVID SILVER" leads to someone selling Health Insurance or a shady debt collector.
I call back around 4 AM (using *67 to block my number). Their message is "Thank you for your call. All of our agents are currently busy. Please, hang up and try your call again later. Thank you." I doubt their agents are busy at this time of day. Notice the lack of any identification of who they are. This is a very bad sign.
I have heard this exact message for 202 840 6885 and 202 838 1994. For the latter number there was one post on 800notes of "some Republican Org calling on a recorded line." This would be consistent with the 202 area code. Also for the 1994 number, there have been reports that they never respond when you answer. I suspect that they are compiling a list of who answers/calls back; they will then sell this list to other telemarketers.
