caller id "Washington DC". Shut the answering machine off and it rang 12 times before they finally gave up.

American Legion to sign up my deceased husband...talk about not giving up...

:)  they're still trying.  It's not going to happen!

Caller ID showed "Washington, DC".  It was a prerecorded message from the American Legion calling to thank me for my service and to let me know that they appreciated my past support of the organization and that I would soon be receiving a special "welcome back" invitation in the mail to renew my membership.  Funny thing is, I was never in the Armed Forces and never an American Legion member.
Huge thanks to all veterans for their service!!!
