No, it's not the IRS, it's a scammer. The IRS doesn't call, they use their fellow government agency, US Mail, to contact you.

you are correct..it is a scam.
They are using an United States Number and it sounds they are overseas. I just got a call demanding 9k or suffer the consequence.
They said it was IRS.
IRS does not call they send mail.
This is a scam and they have my child's information somehow

I got the same call for times June 3,4,5,6, turned them in and told them so and again last night they called again...SMH

this is a major scam. It is NOT the IRS
it is believed they are possibly not in the United States...even if so it is a demand for money to be transferred during the call..please report it to the IRS
