Who called from 2028640271

Receievd a call from 706-956-0479 and 202-864-0271 claiming to be the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. I went on-line and found the 202 # to ba a scam so I called with a scam of my own claiming to be behind on my taxes but with a good reason, I kill people for the Mafia. Eventually, I told him I was coming after him...for free!! He hung up.

I received a call from 202-864-0271.  They claimed to be the IRS.  They claimed I committed tax fraud.

Received a call from this number 202-864-0271 claiming I had committed tax fraud for the past 3 years. They asked me for my attorney's information and I told them I didn't need an attorney because they were trying to scam me and not to ever call my (expletive) phone again.

I know there are scams, but something really makes my blood boil when they leave a voicemail saying "the only thing I can do is wish you the best of luck as these events unfold on you". I don't like being threatened by people who are trying to take advantage of others.

If you can do it, do without voicemail and chase them off with time. Pretty hard to leave threats without an answer--quite aggrevating to thieves. Understandably frustrating what these characters do, but you can only warn those you know and care about and take care of yourself. It takes patience but they're easy people to beat if you can do it. No kind of answer means no "business".

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to [email protected] with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:
