Recorded message says the IRS is calling about tax fraud about me and to call this number back. Called back and scammer in a foreign accent stated he was Officer Sean Anderson from the US Treasury and that I was behind on my taxes (which I am obviously not). He had my name and cell phone number but hung up on me when pressed for what info he had regarding my taxes.
I just now got a call from a recording stating that I defrauded the IRS and that they handed my case to this company and asked me to call 202-864-1167 from Washington, DC. I called back and asked for the agent's name and agent number and got San Anderson, agent # 3601. I told him I was unaware of doing such a thing and that the IRS would usually withhold that money in the next year's tax return. He told me that he would have someone come to my door within 45 minutes to arrest me unless I paid $1994.00. When I told him that I was going to call the IRS, he said that the IRS cannot help me because they have hired his company to handle the collections. I told him that he was not part of the IRS because the IRS doesn't call anyone. He said that I should have received a form Cp503 in the mail and that it was time sensitive. If I did not respond to it, I would be arrested.
