I just received an automated call. It stated This is an automated call from the IRS. We have been trying to reach you. The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. reference number 02 864 1322 repeat 02 864 1322
I called my accountant and this is a scam. I suspect there will be repeat calls which will vary... The recording was poor.
this person call me and said her name is june smith and she is calling from the IRS and I need to call them when I call the number back it was a non working number
The IRS does not call people. The communicate by snail mail.
The number was spoofed. That's not hard to do if you know how. June Smith is a scammer. She was going to tell you that you owe the IRS a lot of money and have to pay right this second by credit card, Western Union, or Green Dot card. She planned to keep any money you sent. Congratulations for not falling for it.
She or other people like her will call again. Hang up on them. You can call them dirty names or blow an air horn in their ears if you want. Just don't give them any money.
