It was from officer Lisa Morgan say that I won a second place from spca that I won 2.5million and it was going to be delivered tomorrow between 9 am and 11am she said officer jake Williams was going to deliver a check from bank of America his bage number was FC-281-007 blue and yellow uniform.
Someone named Kim Jones said she was callling from Consumer Protection telling me that I had been ignoring phone calls from 718-285-8859, which was a company trying to tell me I had won $475,000 in a sweepstakes or something. She said that they had done a check on that company and on me and said I should call the 718 number, claim my prize, then call her back to let her know that the transaction was complete.
I received a message saying to call that number as well. Same deal, that I had won a lottery, but I don't ever remembering entering into a contest. The guy's name was Eric Goldberg.
A message was left on the answering machine. You won a Publisher Clearing House Sweepstakes.
Call 1-202-905-0680, xt 104. Left the name of Eric Goldberg. Returned the call the same day. An answering machine responded with "Leave a message." I'm sure Publisher Clearing House would be more professional than that. Must be a scam.
I received a call from #202-905-0680, ext. ?102. She stated she was calling from the Federal Consumer Protection Agency in Wash. DC. She stated her name was Officer Jesse D. Ferguson. She stated there is a pending check, issued in my name, and gave my full name on the message, for a cash prize in New York for which I have been selected as a 2nd place winner. She told me to return a call to this number. She also stated that they have already contacted me twice by mail and have not gotten a response from me. I chose to call our State's Attorney General and file a complaint. Definitely sounds like a scam!!!!
Hi Michelle--- I, too, am weighing this possible scam. It irks me that there's no immediate way to determine the legitimacy, or not, of these "prize award" calls--especially when coming (supposedly) from the Consumer Protection Agency! Did you have any luck with your State Attorney's office? Any response will be merely academic because I only have 24-hours to make a determination! Arrgh.
