Same as above, first it sounds automated (not actually quoted):
Hi, This is Julie from the vehicle warranty center, how are you today?
Me: Fine, thank you.
Julie: I see that you have a vehicle warranty that is about to expire, is that correct?
Me: What vehicle?
Julie: Umm... (pauses) I see a 2009 Honda?
Me: I think you have the wrong number.
Julie: I apologize for that, have a nice day, I"ll take you off our list.
-end call-
Nothing concrete or substantial, just weird.
I tried calling the number back and it doesn't ring or reach anyone.
I received a few calls from 202-969-4649 and the same thing, they had my previous car listed, told them they were wrong. Asked me what my vehicle was now, asked to not call again and hung up.
Seems the DNC system in Canada does not work!! Maybe someone should slap a lay suit against these people who also call.
This would end quickly after that once this was know they could be sued.
Yep, folks....let me tell you. not only this #2029694649 but many other to boot. Seeing that the vehicle they are looking to extend a warranty on (we no longer own) and have been utilizing public transportation for a while. Furthermore, I received a similar call from a "gentlemen" who was confrontational when I called him out. He repeatedly asked if I had any other vehicles as I explained I no longer own the vehicle they tried to sell me on a warranty extension. To say the least, these folks know the vehicle I drove down to the VIN #... Is this possibly the Auto Dealer selling information or....someone hacked into their database?? I find it disturbing "as you all do" however, this forum is a good place to vent our frustration but it is not solving the issue. If anyone has any feedback related to a resolution here. I am all ears.
One more thing folks, under no circumstances say the word "YES".. they record your voice and viola, you have fallen into their scam. I usually answer unknown numbers as someone else other than my real name instead of the traditional "HELLO" as this is a door opener for them.. Sorry but this is my $0.02
