They did the same thing to me. I called back & they claimed to be Federal Agents. Once I said I was going to contact my Local PD they hung up. I reported them to my Local PD. They stated it was a scam!! You should contact your Local PD as well, just to have it in writing!!
States IRS was filling charges and did I have a criminal attorney. This is after leaving a threatening message on my cell phone. After asking if this was truly the IRS why was I being contacted by a third party. The woman hung up on me
I got the exact message today saying I had fraudently did something with the IRS since 2011 and I had 45 min to pay $4995 or an officer would come arrest me at my residence, I told the two I had received my refund this year and if I owed them then why would they release fund to me and that I had never once received a piece of mail which is how numerous people say is the only way the IRS will contact you. Needless to say it's been a few hours and no one has shown up to arrest me
Ya, got a call. Called them back, told them they are lying criminals calling from India. His protest was "You Americans ... ". Last I checked, the IRS was American too.
