I get calls at my office here in Canada from this number. It is a recording about how the 'factory warranty on my vehicle is about to expire', and I am offered the chance to extend it by pressing 1 and speaking with a service specialist. The recording also offers the chance to be removed from the follow-up list by pressing 2, which I did. It thanked me and disconnected. Hopefully won't get anymore calls.
Call on my cell phone. Telemarketer selling GE home alarm systems. I pressed one and spoke to rep who said the company was Protect America. I located Protect Americas web site, which offered a live chat session. Chat operator was unsure if it was them or not (which says that they do cold call telemarketing) and asked if I was sure it wasn't ADT.
I was called on my cel at approximately 12:15 PM today.
The following is completely conjecture and speculation:
I recently purchased a home via RyanHomes. They use a company called Guardian to do their technology work (including security systems). I gave them my cell number as the way to contact me. I opted to not have a security system in my consultation with them (which happened in the past 2 weeks). Since they are the only people I've dealt with in my entire life in regard to a security system, I think they may be related to the company making the calls or responsible for selling my phone number to this company.
