I just received a call at work from home and it shows this number on my caller ID. We have VOIP at home, so I am thinking it has to do with that? I guess we will wait and see if it happens again!
I found out this is a scam/fraud. I got a letter in mail from Optima Gaming Commission, St. Thomas, V.I that said I'd won $50,000. There was a check for $3725 written to me on a bank account in Dallas. Phoned the bank and they said it was a valid account but the real account holder had a slightly different name though the address on the fake check was that of the real account holder. I called the account holder who told me that several others had called, the perpetrators are asking those whom they mail the checks to to deposit the $3725 in their own account and then send a certified check or M.O.of $3000 to the perpetrators. The one getting fleeced is the holder of the bank account on which the check is written; in this case just a 4-man business. If I had no conscience I could have deposited or cashed the check against the unfortunate small business.
I got a call from 203/740-5522 late at night and two people were having a conversations. They sounded like they were drunk. The first voice was a girl and the second was guy. The conversation went on for 20 mins to a half hour. What kind of scam is this? Can someone tell me.
I got a call from this number today, on my cell phone, answered, and nobody said anything. I then hung up and it rang again, with this number on the caller ID. It was my friend, who uses Vonage, i think or some other VOIP. It is definately not his number, because i think this is a connecticut area code. do any of you know people that would call you using VOIP? maybe there is a mess up with vonage or something.
