Now THIS is more helpful. It's speculation, but based on others' experiences, this call fits the pattern of 1 or 2 rings and hanging up, for the purpose of getting curious (and therefore maybe gullible) people to call back "just to see what it was about."
That then validates your phone number as a live number, and one with someone who might fall for a scam. The number was probably robo-dialed and programmed to hang up quickly, thereby saving the scammer the cost of a call.
If you can, find a way to block calls. There are all kinds of methods for this and you can find one that works for your phone by Googling CALL BLOCKER.
If you call these idiots back it will give you the option to press #1 to be removed from their call list.
If it works that is. When I answered the phone I spoke initially with some idiot who told me,,they can not take my number off their list because it's a business phone. I just told him,,,take it off your list JACK [***] and hung up on the moron.
