Yeah - I had the same experience. I guess I don't understand how returning the call could rack up $$ though, since it's a regular area code ... Not a 900 type. Any ideas?
What happens is, you call the number back and it transfers out to say Aruba, Haiti etc., then the money starts adding up. There is a current scam out there where the scammer hopes you call the number back out of curiosity to start making them money. Sadly there isn't a government agency that can shut these types of people down, because no one cares about getting them shutdown and sent to jail.
I received a call from this number and just ignored it.
