This same guy keeps calling from different Phone #'s on behalf of the Alabama State Troopers.
They want a donation.
Thought there may be some reputable groups out there, why use Phone #'s from all over the state of AL.
the days of Calling for dollars is over. If you want to make a donation to any organization, do so by reaching out to an organization you trust, not some Yahoo calling you.
They continue to call back until you block their #.
This caller called me tonight and then refused to speak to me. I used a different phone to call them back and the phone was answered as if receiving a normal call. He thanked me for "returning his call' even though I called from a different number and did NOT fortunately, give my name. He pretended to be on behalf of Alabama State Troopers and claimed that we would be receiving a window decal and magnet for our car but first he would need to know my name and address and then told me that he would be willing to accept a donation of $25 or $15 dollars and it would go to buy life insurance, teddy bears and things for the troopers.
This caller has called twice in the past week. Our caller ID registers the number as Dora, AL. I answered the phone both times and the caller immediately hung up. Throughout December I received several calls similar to Susan above, but from a different number, of callers identifying themselves as Alabama State Troopers fund but offering sketchy and suspicious details. After reading Susan's post, I suspect this number may be the same group.
