Automated message about the IRS filing a suit. Same as previous posts in this thread. Tried to call the number back but there was no answer, not even a voice messaging system answer. The caller ID showed the number to be an Alabama number calling from a Cell Phone, so I did a quick NPA/NXX check and sure enough it is a cellular number owned by New Cingular Wireless out of Bessemer, AL - Got to be a hoax, scammers, etc.
Had a voice mail from this number just now saying that "this is the IRS... we are filing a lawsuit against you".... These hoaxters are going to cause a good person to die of a heart attack!
Got a robo-call from 205-260-4948, automated message says it is the IRS and they are leaving a "final message" and claiming to have started a legal proceeding against whomever they think is at my home phone number. Called the number but no answer - kind of a weird ring, too. Almost like it wasn't connecting very well. Got to be scamming call of some kind. We certainly don't have any fear of the IRS coming after our family.
