Yes, indeed, another one of the repetitive solicitations supposedly on behalf of the Alabama State Troopers. This type of solicitation, on behalf of any agency of state government, should be carefully scrutinized. The ASTs would be far better off, if they asked, not for contributions but for the citizens of the state of Alabama to contact their legislative representatives and the governor, to demand that funds be made available to increase the number of troopers on the highways of Alabama. At the present time, there is a need for some 400 new State Troopers. But instead of doing anything about this, coupled with endless other needs and deficit the state of Alabama faces, the political leadership of this state steadfastly refuse to do anything to increase the necessary funding to mitigate these problems.
This number called me twice today and left no messages so I called back and the person just answer "Hello" and I asked why they were calling me and he said it's the Alabama State Troopers department. Don't know if it's legit or not I just said no thanks and hung up.
