I recieved the same type of message on my cell phone. I returned the favor and left the dirtball 4 or 5 threatening messages. When I finally did get the chance to speak to him, he claimed he did not call me. I also reported it to the FTC. They really need to catch these low-lifes and send them back to where ever they come from.
2/09/10 received voice message on home phone (my caller ID stated he called at 1:29 and 1:30pm) from middle eastern person with heavy accent stating he was Stephen Parker of Half Moon Bay California calling regarding a Legal Matter and that he had a file of my Legal Activities in front of him regarding a loan I took from Ace Cash Express Inc on a October 10th (the year was garbled) and that I was to call him back right away at 205-294-6286 (this is what my called ID showed as well as “Clanton, AL”). I Googled the number and found it was in Alabama, not California. When I called him back the call went straight to a voice mail message that stated "the person you are calling at extension 205-294-6286 is unavailable, please leave a message". As I was doing that, he was trying to caller id my cell phone (I was at work & had called home to check messages & then returned his call via my cell). Once I had left the message, I checked my messages and had two from his number him with just music on the voicemail. I called again and he answered instantly, repeated all that he had said on my voice mail and that I could pay $188 now and settle or I could see him in court on 2/15 and pay $2000 in court costs, plus $_ _ in attorney fees, plus, etc etc and that he would get the Initial Notification Letter from the Local Court of California out to me tomorrow... I don't owe anyone and have never taken out a loan, etc so I am blown away by this call. Who do I call to report this too as I saw other reports for cases just like this on your website although they came from a different number 409-229-4937.

I had a guy call me today, screaming and yelling, making threats against me and my family if I didn't pay up. I have no idea who this guy is or who he represents.
DONT send them money. This is is a total scam. These people are low life [***] from India that try to scam hard working American families. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!!!! IT'S A SCAM!!!! -- THEY ARE NOT FROM ALABAMA.. THEY ARE FROM INDIA
TOTAL SCAM. THEY USE AN ALABAMA PHONE NUMBER BUT THE CALL IS ROUTED TO INDIA. THEY CLAIM THAT YOU OWE DEBT TO A BOGUS FIRM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! IT'S A TOTAL SCAM. THEY WILL THREATEN YOU WITH A LAW SUITE BUT DON'T BELIEVE THEM. --
