I have received 9 calls from this criminal group since May 4, as follows:
I received 4 calls from a caller who identified himself as Rick Powers with NERG. He claims that documents have been filed with his office in a pre-legal matter associated with my name and social security number. He says that I need to contact his office and provide my attorney's name and provide a financial statement by next Friday. Legal action is threatened if I don't comply. The last 2 calls from him were even more threatening. Phone numbers/Caller IDs used by this scumbag were: 281-909-4022/Seabrook, TX; 718-690-3386/Austin, TX (718 is actually the area code for Brooklyn, NY); 916-674-5292/Sloughhouse, CA; and 205-543-5210/Warrior, AL.
Another caller from this group identified herself as Lindsey Shaffer, a private courier. She says she has sealed documents requiring my signature and that I need to make myself available tomorrow between 12 and 5. If I have questions, or if I want to put in a stop order, I am to contact the filing party at 888-742-8597. No one showed up after any of her calls. I received a total of 4 calls from her. Other phone numbers/caller ID's used by her: 281-909-4022/Seabrook, TX and 614-980-0375/Columbus, OH.
There was 1 call from a Bree Sanders at phone number 614-980-0375. Caller ID showed Columbus, OH. She said I have been deemed to be non-compliant in a claim, resulting in my file being flagged and turned over to their recovery department. They need an immediate response today and I am to call the 614 number. If you cross reference all of the phone numbers, you will see that some numbers are common among all of the callers, a sure sign that the calls are all bogus.
None of the callers address you by your name. It is a sure sign that the calls are random. I did not speak to any of these people. I let my answering machine answer anytime I don't recognize the caller ID. I suggest anyone seeing this do the same. I took this information to the Schaumburg, Illinois police department, and they have verified that all of the phone numbers are scammer phone numbers. Because of the threatening nature of some of the calls, they have opened case #16-12086 in order to look in to this matter.
This is a scam to try to extort money from unsuspecting and vulnerable people.
I received the same call today from Lindsey the private courier telling me to be available between a12-5 tomorrow. Didnt say who the call was for or what address to be at. Then I called the number 888-742-8597 and the man was gary redmond stating that i had to pay the amount in full before the end of july then after I took all his information he said that I had an option of paying over two months. This company was northeastern mediation in buffalo new york. Scam
Some lady called from 205-543-5210 and said I have documents that I need to sign between 2p-5p tomorrow and if I wanted to stop this legal action I needed to call some 855 number. Nice try losers
same as above ...stating it was a private courier, we must available between 12 and 5 pm ...they have legal documents that require signature blah,blah ...blah and for us to call 888-742-8594.
