I answered before I checked this website. It was a computer voice that just said "goodbye". I thought it was funny. Now I know not to answer this call.
Thanks to everyone for posting!
"Rachel or Bridget" always says she is with Card Holder Services. If you check the back of your credit cards, you will see that the legitimate company is called Card Member Services. That is the difference between a scam call and legal call.
Usually I don't answer calls coming from unknowns. Caller ID said "Alabama". I was in a rotten mood and am sick of these idiots calling all the time, so I grabbed it up waiting to light into someone. I said hello several times and finally a recording said "goodbye". I'm blocking this number now. I'm going to get a call blocker. Between my phone company and my phone system I have 55 numbers to block AND they are full of these scammer numbers.
Here's what to do for ALL telemarketer calls. Answer, stay on the line and when a real person answers, say "hold on a moment", put the phone down and walk away. The WORST thing anyone can do to telemarketers is to waste their time since wasted time for them is wasted money. If every call resulted in a wasted a minute of their time, they would go bankrupt. Of course this is a scam. Why would the recorded message tell me to press 2 to receive no more calls (when this is my "final notice")? You'd think they could be a little more clever.
