They didn't answer when they called me on Christmas eve day, which was rude. I called back. They were looking for my ex husband. Wanting me to give them his number. Saying he was using my number to hide out BUT THE WOULD FIND HIM AND GET HIM. The man would not give me his name or company name. I wish I knew because he deserves to be fired!
This is a collection agency, Central Office Collections. I received a call from this number today and they did not leave a message. I called the number back and talked to a very rude, and flat out mean, man who has no clue to the laws that govern his profession. I nicely told him that I had already paid the debt he was calling about and requested his company's mailing address so I can send a formal written request for proof of debt; he told me he was not allowed to provide the company's address and they do not provide proof of debt that I would have to check my credit report. If you get a call from this number record it when you answer/call them back (remember: federal law requires you to inform the other party that you are recording the call!). In most states it is illegal for them not to provide their company's information (check your state's laws) and to harrasse you once you have requested proof of debt and they refuse to provide it. With this recording (proof of refusing to provide proof of debt) you can have this removed from your credit report, and enought complaints (with proof) the company will be fined and shut down.
