I have received numerous calls from the this number - the caller ID says "Amer Red Cross" - but when I finally answered the call, the person on the other end began reading legally threatening language, and when I pressed them to identify who they were calling for, they said "CBCS" about a "personal business matter." I hung up immediately.
CBCS is a major debt collection company. (Not sure if it was even CBCS or a total scam -- the number is a Verizon cell phone number according to reserve lookup.) I checked with the Red Cross - it is not a number from them.
It is illegal for a debt collector to "spoof" by providing a fake caller identity. I will be filing a report wit the FTC.

Received call from 205-994-7328 --- Caller ID said American Red Cross--- when call was answered they asked for someone not in household---she got nasty when asked if this is the Red Cross and she said no, it's not---when questioned further she said CBCS.
This number continues to call me, sometimes as much as three times a day, claiming to be some sort of "quality control" company. The person on the line asks me to confirm my SSN. I have tried to ask what this is about/who is calling, but the caller never answers, telling me I have to confirm my SSN before they tell me what this is about, allegedly for my security. Always hang up, they keep calling back.
