By chance I overheard a very aggressive man applying the hard sell to my very hard of hearing 88 year old Mom. "How can you say no to me when I haven't even told you what the program is". He was angry with her. My mom is always polite to phone solicitors. I took the phone. His name was John and he was selling discounted airline tickets. I had to very forcefully say "We're NOT interested "John" Thank you" and hang up. His behavior made me wonder if he might call back out of anger.
Are getting calls daily from these scumbags! Sometimes several in a day. A woman's voice tells me to hit one to receive the call, or push two to get off the list, all in about one-tenth of a second. I did push two once, didn't do any good.
Caller claimed it was a furnace company that regularly services our furnace and wanted to confirm our appointment. I told caller that he was incorrect...they do not service our furnace. He argued, became rude, and hung up.
Guy on phone asserting he was calling for the Starlight Duct Cleaning service (or similar sounding name) to confirm duct cleaning appointment allegedly made by a household member for tomorrow. I queried as I don't use such a company. He said this is not for furnace work, but duct cleaning service that I supposedly use every three years. Told him to give me his name and number as I'm not the usual one to make such arrangement and need to confer with the household member who does. He said "alright" and than hung up on me. Total scam. We never arranged for duct cleaning services, but we do have annual furnace maintenance, thus my reason for talking with him at all as he blended to the local scene like a chameleon.
Addressed me by name and said he was from Star Air Duct Cleaning Services. I hung up. The only thing that they will clean out is your bank account. Nothing new here. More of the same.
