I just got the same call!! From 202-304-8101. Was told qualified for $7k grant and then had to call 206-201-2083. Curiosity got the best of me so I made the second call. They had my address wrong but I was not about to correct them. They said I had to pay $100 to confirm that it's me before they can give me the money to either a money gram or western union.
Got the same call... asked which government agency this was and why I wasn't being sent a check instead of cash. Lol. Knew it was a scam and Google the number.
I got the same call and I've reported them to the federal trade commission. I asked for their website and they gave me a dot com that doesn't exist. If they were really from the govt they would have a dot gov. I called the second number and asked for the web address and the guy wouldn't give it to me and asked me how I got this number and hung up on me after being rude. I keep calling the number back to pester them and it is now disconnected or busy. I can wait to give them a piece of my mind.
the same thing happened to me. They said the government was giving out 7000of a grant. In order to get it you had to give them 250 in cash I knew it was a scam but my husband wanted to do it I told him no but he did it anyway. The next day they wanted 480 dollars. I called them back trying to get my money back.
They were rude and threatened me saying they were going to kick my [***] and my husbands and all of my family. These losers need to be in jail. Why can't the police do something about them?
