I received a message at 7:40 this morning and stated I needed to return this phone call and the it was urgent and if I didn't they would take legal action against me. I called and they said they were from the IRS and that they were legit.
I just received a call from this number and let it go to voice mail. They stated I needed to return their call to prevent further action against me. I received a call like this about 2 months ago and it really scared me. Kept them on the phone asking questions until I asked to speak with a supervisor and to provide me with proof of who I was talking to and to send me information through the mail. He finally, after about 15 min, told me this was a scam and he hung up on me. Is there any way to report these people to get this to stop????
The IRS will never call you. They send letters. There would be many letters before any actions might be taken. Everything is in writing. Do not respond to these calls. See irs.gov for more info
