got a call asking if I wanted to secure my lower interest rate - I pushed 1 to connect so that i could them they have the wrong number. I said "you have the wrong number and I need to be taken off your list". The little turd said "oh great" and then muted the line. I said "hello?, hello?" and he said 'WHAT do you want?" which I replied "you called ME you jerk!" and then he HUNG UP ON ME. I'm contacting the better business bureau. I don't know who these people are - but they are stalkers and probably committing some sort of fraud.
I am in Seattle and got this call yesterday and today. Tried calling back and got busy signal. Other calls like this have been online prescription meds so I'm guessing that is what this is. What's weird is that it's in my area code. Normally these calls come from other area codes
My experience with payment reminders and collection agencies is that they a) leave a message and b) usually make it really easy for you to get back in touch with them! My rule of thumb is that if there is no message and you can't call back that it's a solicitation of some kind.
