I have received two calls from this number within a few days (one on mobile number and one on home number). Caller ID says the calls are originating in Seattle. There is a threat that the "Investigation Department" of the IRS is about to contact local authorities and have me arrested if I don't call that number immediately.
SCAMMER. Got a recorded message saying it was John Smith investigating for the IRS and an arrest warrant was issued against me. Call him back before it goes to my local police ... etc. etc. fear-mongering. Someone on another website said their local news had done a story about this specific scam.
Says they are calling from the IRS investigation department and that there is a warrant for your arrest and to get a hold of them before the file gets to your local police department! Hahaha how stupid do these people think I am the IRS doesn't call people so in otherwords I blocked the call see how they like that
Got a recorded call with the male voice on the other end saying he was Officer Johnson of the Seattle PD. Claimed there is a warrant for my arrest from an IRS investigation and I should call back some number. I didn't have a chance to write down the number but it started with a "4". believe this is a scam.
I received a call from 206-388-4931 regarding the same message as above...
"Says they are calling from the IRS investigation department and that there is a warrant for your arrest and to get a hold of them before the file gets to your local police department" Thank you Speedy 24 and Slim Shady for the heads up! Mine was officer John Smith!
Received a call from this number today. It was a man stating that he was with the IRS and had a warrant for my arrest. I obviously knew it was fake so I didn't call back. If anyone gets a call from him don't answer it is a scam!
