Sick of It
So sick of these scam calls. Oh how I wish I could reach through the phone. The following message was left on my voicemail today and the broken English person tried to sound like a mechanical recording...NOT!
Voicemail from (206) 397-1992
"The IRS has issued an arrest warrant against you and your physical address is under Federal investigation. So call me back to get the detail information about your case. My call back number is 206-397-1992. I repeat it's 206-397-1992. It's very important we hear from you today. Thank you."

Pissed off
I received the same message. How do they live with themselves. Although I know it is bogus still very upsetting. I called the Federal Agents last year they told me they are investigation; but have not caught these creeps yet. What goes around comes around.

I received a voicemail today stating that the IRS has a warrant out for my arrest. When I google searched the number I found that this has happened to several people from this same number.

SCAM IRS agent call. Says they have a warrant out for my arrest and to call back immediately. I have a great Call Blocker so they were added immediately and can no longer get through from this number

IRS Scam:

The IRS does not need to sue anyone.  They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office.  Several of them.  Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for.  Again delivered by the Post Office.  Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own.  If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?  They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.

Official IRS Government site detailing this scam and providing links to report it:
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam

If you feel you SSN has been compromised, in addition to putting a fraud alert at the 3 credit bureaus, you may want to notify the IRS.  Here is the link, fill out the proper form (probably 14039):
