The call started with a recording information senior citizens or anyone over 60 years old that they were entitled to #3,000 worth of free food stands and a free medical alert bracelet or monitoring device in case the senior had a fall or an accident or needed special assistance. ( How many people over 60 years old need medical alerts? This call was really stupid. I don't know what kind of kids believe that people over 60 suddenly are infirm and unable to do anything at all!). The call then instructed the recipient of the call to press one to speak to an operator. I pressed one and demanded how my number was obtained. The recipient of the call was a man with a thick foreign accent who insisted that I must have opted -in somewhere for his advertising. I told him that I never did. In fact I yelled at him and called him a damn Gypsy, some other expletives and to get out of American. I continued to curs him until he hung up. I then reported the call to the FTC as a Do Not Call List violation, which the call was. I do not feel compelled to be anything except rude and ugly to these people who call me unsolicited. What are they going to do back? Report me to the FTC when they were the one who violated the Do Not Call List in the first place, and happen to be obnoxious foreigners also, who also violated my inner serenity by calling me on the phone, and disturbing me on an early Saturday morning? It makes me happy to curse them over the phone. Perhaps if enough people cursed the and cussed them out each time they got a live person, perhaps eventually they will get the message and become discouraged and quit!. I don't like these people who call, and I think that they should know how very much disliked and despised they are! Also, I informed the FTC of the whole thing, including the part about cussing out the "operator." To me, these folks are deliberately provoking an irate response in a senior citizen by deliberately targeting individuals whom they believe are helpless seniors.
Received call. They say that I or someone who knows me signed up for, or I clicked some box or the other when getting prescription drugs (all phony excuses), that indicated interest in senior emergency care products. Caller was not aware of any Federal No Call list, and made these excuses to claim that I "initiated" the process.
Call from Seattle Wa. This was a recording. The only thing I heard before I hung up was something about
seniors being eligible for 3000.00 worth of groceries. Not sure what they were selling.
