These people called me today do not sound like a branch of the Government as stated here, I would assume this is some sort of scam. They called me and hung up and then when I returned the call they told me I had a debt for a loan I supposedly took out. I have not taken out any loans and then they said I was being "sued today." When I told them I never had a loan and was recently the victim of identity theft he just hung up the phone on me. First off they had very heavy accents and sounded like they were from India or Pakistan. I do not think these people have anything to do with the US Government.
I am getting calls at work and on my cell number. It is obvious that somehow they have tapped into a data base from an(originally) legit payday loan application I had with some company. They have my personal information and even called the chairman of my department in an attempt to put pressure on me. Yes. I have internet payday loan out but am paying it. These people with Indian??? accents are causing me alot of grief. What can be done to track them down. It is probably of no use to try to remember the various names they say they are as they must be fake---one before was John Griffin??? and this last time today on cell & direct work number was from a ...let me check... Mark Palmer (lol) as he is obviously Middle-eastern or Indian or Pakistanian at Financial (some word i can't understand) law??? Department. They are also able to quote the last four of my social security. I told them I was reporting them to the Attorney general's Office and they don't seem to care, the phone number must be skip jumped to who knows where in the world??? Can Anyone help? Thanks Anthony Lanctot
