I received a call from David Anderson - reportedly advising me that I was a winner of a $250,000 Reader's Digest Global Consumer Award. I told him I would need to call and verify his name and number and would call him back on Monday. When I asked about the award, he said it was to individuals who shopped at local grocery stores and Wal-Mart (among others) who paid their bills on time. He also asked whether I had heard or received anything advising me that I was a winner. I said no - and I haven't entered any contests recently. Sounds like a scam - will continue to research and see if the Attorney General's Office is interested in pursuing this.
