Got a telephone message from female with heavy accent indicating there was an earnest warrant against my husband. Said her name was Michelle Christian with the IRS. I know IRS does not work that way. Just erased message.
got call from someone with heavy foreign accent claiming to be with the IRS who said there was a claim against me and wanted to know my intentions on the matter. Told him IRS didn't operate with phone calls and I should have received a letter. He said letter was mailed January 2014 and received by my son. Asked him where he's located and he said Seattle. Said I'd have my attorney call to speak with his supervisor and he gave me the 206 414-1405 number and said it was his number and his supervisor's number. Then he asked what we my intentions about the claim. I hung up 'cause I know the IRS doesn't work this way nor do they deal with claims and my son never intercepted any letter addressed to me. This guy was a fraud and I could barely understand him.
Same exact story with me.
When I told the "officer" that I want to consult with my lawyer first, he told me that if I disconnect the call it will mean that I run away from the law and the sheriff will come down and arrest my wife and me immediately.
I called my lawyer from the other line and he told me that the IRS never works like this. So I hung up on these guys.
