I got the same call today from "Agent Vargus" in Seattle. Very threatening. I tried to block this number on my phone service but it said it's an "invalid number." Just FYI, it is 206 414-2293 - another number to add to the other numbers on this list.

Scam-O-Rama. Got a voice mail from an "Special DEA Agent" David Montini (probably a made up name), and said I had to call back right away because they needed to ask me some questions about "an up and coming (or ongoing) criminal investigation." He had a heavy foreign accent. I did a little digging on the Washington State DEA site, searched for his name (no results) and searched for the phone number (same result. I also searched for phone numbers listed on the State DEA site, and they popped up, no problem. I then went to the Federal DEA site and came across this: https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pubs/pressreleases/extortion_scam.htm
Bingo! I'm going to fill out the complaint report on the Federal site, and hang onto the voice mail in case actual investigators want it for their actual investigation. But it looks like this number is being used by scammers.
Oh, by the way, the "Call type" menu needs to have "Law Enforcement Fraud". None of the other categories applied to my situation, so I had to choose "Unknown."
These guys are scam artists scum bags. They hack websites with your info and try to extort money from you. I'm in Canada and they want to talk to me about an investigation. These guys are the worst of the worst I wish I could get my hands on them, I'd crack there skulls open and barry them alive.
