I received two calls but I only answered one where the non English speaking female gave me a confirmation number and a phone number to call. I didn't call the number because I knew it was a scam. I do not know how they got my number & my number is on a Do Not Call list.
They called me saying me and 15,000 others are receiving a grant from the government but I had to go put up a Green Dot MoneyPak Works card from CVS put 200.00 to raise the limit they stayed on the phone with me the whole transaction 45 mins for me to get it. and said I would be receiving the 200.00 back plus 7,800.00 then said they had to send me to the tax department and they wanted 500.00 for the taxes and to get another card from CVS again and she wanted to stay on the line with me too. Everyone I talked to seem to be from India. I couldn't understand them to well. I said I didn't have another 500.00 only a 100.00 and they said they would take that and see if the rest could be paid when I received my money.

I got the same call but when I asked why I needed this card the man was very rude and when I asked for more information he called me a "son of a [***]" .
Same thing here. I keep receiving calls, however, most of the time I don t answer or hang up when I hear the "click". Of course it s a scam. I m sure the government doesn t money to pay people to call random numbers to give away grants. If that is the case, then the US would be REALLY screwed up....lol
