I found this number was associated with "NCO" which is a collection agency. I found their website and called them. Good for me, I have no "account" with them meaning they have no reason to call me. But the South Asian person on the phone - probably in Bangalore - said it might be "skip tracing" where NCO has some record that someone someday gave this number - or maybe a name similar to mine and they re looking for that other person. Whatever. Just call them and tell them to stop calling.
For the past 2 days these putzes keep calling and hanging up. Over and over. I pick up the phone on one ring and they hang up. I called this number and it says "Thank you for returning our call. If you do not wish to receive further calls about our Promotional Offers and be place don our Do Not Call List press 1." I did and the calls keep flooding in. I DESPISE these people. And I'm sure the guy in charge is some happy smiling guy in a golf shirt who thinks he's the greatest guy in the world who can only keep up that illusion by having NO idea of---and not caring about---the negative and disruptive impact he has on people's lives. I would love to know who these people are and give them a taste of their own harassment, because that's what it is.
