Got the same call from the Asian guy..gave me the same number to call back in order to claim my money but different ID #...I Google the number because I thought it was a scam and my gut was right. Never called the number.
I got a call from a guy who claimed to be Agent Albert Murray with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The call came from an 800 number but I was supposed to call 206-451-5274 in order to claim my $9,000 tax free grant money. The US government sponsored some kind of survey that generated random names, addresses and phone numbers of lucky recipients. He was greatly offended when I told him I am a government lawyer and suspected a scam.
I got exactly the same call, promising a $9,000 tax free grant. But I had to return the call to 206-451-5274 and confirm certain information. I suspected a scam and never made the call. I am sure they would have asked me for the same info.
