Automated call stating IRS issued warrant, but did not state my name. From Bainbridge Island, WA.
I called it , but it was silent or said number not inservice. Do they have my information now that I called them? Freaking out a little bit.
The only thing the scammer knows is that someone at your number called back. They will call you again to complete the scam. Don't answer. Tell everyone in your house to not answer.
BTW - the way the scam works, the scammer will tell you that you owe the IRS a lot of money for overdue taxes or some other lie. You have to pay right this second by giving them your bank account or credit card number. The scammer then spends all of your money. Congratulations on not falling for it.
