Received call, man with heavy accent answered. I advised him I was represented by counsel. He said he could not speak to my attorney and that I would hear from the local sheriff department.
Just received a message on my cell phone that this was the IRS and a lawsuit is being filed against me. Called the number back on a different line and a male with a heavy indian accent stated he was with the IRS how can I help you. I hung up but googled the situation. Found an article describing word for word a warning from NPR. site link here http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/0 ... the-irs-hes-not Also reported the number to the FTC

Scam, claims to be from the "Internal Revenue Service," that it has filed a lawsuit, and that an immediate call back is required. Do not call back, do not send money or give out other financial information. Also, bear in mind that the real IRS does not do collection calls. They write letters or they take action.
If we had good regulations against fraud in this country, the CEO of the phone company would hauled into court and forced to reveal to whom this number was allocated so that we could get to the bottom of it.
