Got and IRS automated call about criminal prosecution if I don't call and take care of this right away - same BS I've gotten 3-4 times in the past from several different numbers.
The person called and did not indicate to whom the message was being left. He claimed this was the last chance before the individual for whom the message was being left would have before having to appear before a federal magistrate. the voice sounded strident almost angry

Called saying this is the last notice that to avoid prosecution for a federal crime and to stand before a federal magistrate, I must call this number 206-483-0025.
Left same message on my answering machine regarding final notice and court summons, etc. I called to see who they were calling for and to my surprise he said my previously married last name. Then went on to tell me I owed $6000 in back taxes from doing my taxes wrong from 2009 through 2013 and I could pay the code settlement of $32,000 or pay the six thousand. I asked him where the paperwork on this is and he said someone tried to deliver it to my house 2 times but I was never there. I said why didn't they send it certified mail and he said it was too important to give to the post office (what?) He asked if I was going to pay or if I wanted my driver's license suspended and an arrest warranty issue for my arrest. I asked him if his mother received a call from a total stranger demanding money would he want her to pay and he told me to watch my mouth. AGAIN WHAT? I told him I was not going to pay and that I was going to contact a lawyer and he said that I better get ready for a big fight and the police would be knocking on my door in the next couple of days. Then he hung up. I called back and another guy answered the phone and basically tried to give me the same song and dance. I told him I was reporting them to the real IRS and the FBI and then he hung up.
