Received a call to our land line a few minutes ageo. Caller ID: Wireless Caller. Didn't recognize the number and didn't answer. Voice mail message left, but it was obvious the message was recorded and started as soon as our voice mail greeting started. The recorded voice mail message was missing the first part of the message, because it was playing while our voice mail greeting was playing. The remainder of the voice mail message just said to call the number 206-484-0530, with the speaker repeating the number. Not going to call it, as it seems suspicious to me.
Just received another call to our land line from this number. Caller ID: Wireless Caller. This time I picked up the phone receiver, but I did not say anything. An obviously recorded message started with a female voice stating the IRS had been trying to contact us/me and was going to file a lawsuit. As c and Charlotte stated this IS A SCAM. The U.S. Internal Revenue Service contacts taxpayers via letter sent through the U.S. Postal Service, period, not via a robo call with a recorded message.
