We basically know who are doing this. Coming from a spoofed 206 area code is usually an indicator that the caller was a Pakistani Scammer. Most of these calls are coming from Indian Scammers. They like to spoof 202 area codes. The Indian Scammers are usually a little brighter. Not by much, but a little. It's all very simple. The IRS does NOT call you first. They send letters. Lots of letters.
If you'd like to file a complaint you can do so at IRS.gov. Hundreds of complaints are pouring in every day. There's not much our government can do. It's not like we're going to invade India or Pakistan looking for fraudsters because our own people aren't smart enough to keep themselves from being defrauded by people with what equate to third grade educations & the English language skills of Cocker Spaniels.

Expect a visit from the invisible police. Are arrests, summons, or papers forewarned? Relax and fear not. You're doing exactly what they want--be scared, return the call (or certainly take it next time) and pay a bogus fee. Get on their nerves by completely ignoring their calls.
