I received two calls today. I will report this to the irs fraud site as others have done. The first call I told them to send me the notice in writing and hung up. The second call I didn't answer and they left a message with the call back number that this is the audit department and I need an attorney because there is a deficiency with your income tax. His tone was threatening. I think they need to be prosecuted for this. I am going to keep his message on my phone so I can use it to have the IRS hear it.
Two calls this morning. Let answering machine take it. Person, who had such a heavy accent (India?), claimed to be the IRS said to call back. I had to play back message a few times to understand only part of it. It's a scam of some kind. Anyone else getting this call?
i just got a call from this number i beleve its a scam i didnt under stand him and im sure the irs would contact us by mail first and from 800 0r 888 number
I have received two calls from the suppose pd IRS, just like you. Both times, its the same man with the heavy Indian accent. After doing some research on the internet and realizing that it was a scam, I called the number today. When I reached them, they wanted information from me right away like my name, so they could pull up my records. I would not give them any information. First guy hung up on me. I called back and got another guy who said he would try and help me but he would have to pull up my records. I told him not to bother pulling up my records and that I was only calling to let them know I knew their calls were a scam and not actually the IRS. I told them to take me off their list or they would be hearing from our attorney, and then I hung up on him. This better be the end of it. I'm getting tired of receiving these calls.
