They are fake Google, meaning they never tell you the real name of their company and they just say they are calling on behalf of Google.  They are trying to get you to agree to sign up with them to let them update your business's Google Places account. The thing is, it only takes a person less than 5 minutes to log in and do the same thing this telemarketer wants you to pay them $100 or more to do.  They call my business at least 2-3 times a week and every time I tell them I am not interested and remove my number. They do not remove. A different representative from the same place calls me back a day or so later and the cycle continues. They should be penalized for not removing numbers when a person asks them to. They call both my business number and my cell phone number. Getting sick and tired of it.

This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group, a public utility operated in part by F Antone Accuardi of Portland Oregon.  He uses a foreign "shell" company to enter into revenue sharing agreements with illicit telemarketers.  This is a likely violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Complaints of misconduct involving Pacific Telecom's F Antone Accuardi can be sent to:  [email protected]

As a licensed attorney, Accuardi is subject to oversight by the Oregon State Bar Association.  According to official documents from State investigators, Accuardi "... is responsible for a large percentage of the illegal telephone calls made using Pacific Telecom’s telephone numbers."

Someone has a blog post about them and also has a YouTube video of dealing with them. His blog post is at: http://asliceofbigpauly.wordpress.com/2012/10 ... slow-them-down/  He also managed to get connected to one of their other numbers (in California) that you can dial into. The other number is 949-202-1151.  That number looks familiar and may be the other number they use when they spam me with calls.  Their other number is definitely a California call starting with 949 area code.

Here is a solution to this problems.    Works for us.

There is NO stopping all the telemarketers out there. Here is what is going on.

1. There are phone bots, that all it does is call numbers looking for live phone numbers. If the number answers either with you picking up or your voice mail, then it logs that number and moves on to the next number.

2. With all these 'live numbers' they are then sold to the telemarketers who then with their automatic dialers, will then be calling you etc.

3. If you try to call the number that they are calling you from, then you get no where because they do not want to be bothered as we are with 100 of calls.
So you are either getting the telemarketers or the phone bots calling you.   Getting mad or calling to be taken off their phone list is a waste of time.

SO OUR SOLUTION, as we are in an office, is we answer the first time, and as soon as we know its a bot, or a telemarketer, we save the phone number in our phone as a Z meaning that it is a telemarketer, etc.

Then when the next call comes in it shows that it is a Z and  we just ignore it.

Right now, we have over 40 - Z phone numbers on our log, and we no longer get bothered but we are adding at least 2 a day to the Z list.

Give up ... find a way to just know that they will never stop but there is a way for you to know in advance that they are calling and to just ignore them.
