This number called us with the same threat, that I was going to be arrested by the DEA (spoke to "special agent Juan Castillo"), and I then spoke to the "assistant district attorney" by the name of "Jeffery Campbell." He said he would drop the charges against me if I paid $1500.00. My husband and I called the Washington State attorney general office and talked to consumer protection department. We filed a complaint with them, and they advised us to also call our local police department and file a complaint, which we did.
This is the latest scam number that called me. This number claims they are an agent with the DEA conducting an investigation. They hung up real fast when I began to ask for their credentials, and said that I would report them if they contacted me again.
I got the same call with the same names. I called the Attorney General's office. The AG said it was a scam and that they are operating out of the country. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR CRAP. Ask for badge numbers and creditails and see what they do then.
