Female caller with an accent claimed to be a representative from the United States Treasury called from 202-596-8478 stating I have won a grant worth $9,000.00 for being a good citizen, for not filing bankruptcy, for paying my bills on time for six months, etc. The caller provided me with two separate authorization and confirmation codes requesting I call 206-596-0597 to speak to her supervisor to finalize the approproval process. When my daughter requested for them to verify specific information re: their identity, company information, and to basically repeat everything that was explained to me, etc. the caller became rude and aggressive. We told them the call is being recorded and that we are submitting a formal complaint with our local attorney general office. She said go ahead, I don't care, and attempted to be verbally abusive. We disconneted the call. BE WARE!!!! THIS IS A SCAM APPEARING TO TARGET ELDERLY PEOPLE ....
