I LIVE IN fLORIDA AND LISTED A MOTORCYCLE ON CRAIGS LIST.  I RECEIVED AN EMAIL SAYING THAT IT IS SOLD AND THEY WILL SEND A CHECK AND ARRANGE A PICK UP.  I SENT THEM AN EMAIL BACK ASKING IF THEY WERE SURE THAT THEY WANTED IT SIGHT UNSEEN. THEY SAID YES AND THEY WOULD SEND ME A CHECK THAT WOULD INCLUDE THE PRICE OF SHIPPING.  THIS DIDN'T SOUND RIGHT SO I ASKED FOR A PHONE NUMBER.  THIS NUMBER WAS GIVEN SO WHEN I LOOKED IT UP, IT IS FROM WASHINGTON STATE. I FOUND THIS SITE.  THE BUYER USED THE NAME DONALD DUKE AND THE GRAMMER AND THINGS LIKE PUNCTUATION WERE VERY POOR.  IF THEY DO SEND A CHECK, I WILL RETURN IT.  I STILL NEED TO SELL THE MOTORCYCLE .

I was given this number to call by someone who says they saw my add on craigslist and wanted to hire me.  They wanted to hire me despite my $800 fee to travel to St. Louis, yet this number is for the Seattle area.  They wanted to hire me to DJ their daughter's 18th birthday party that was from 1pm to 5pm on a Wednesday in St. Louis, MO.  
Here is the latest e-mail, which also asks for a tutor for a daughter yet the names are different in the e-mails, both came to me...

Hey Adam,

These people are running a scam. I have seen this before from these people. No matter what you do, please and I repeat please do not cash or take any checks from them. If you do they will flip the story and ask you to money gram funds to them

I have also been asked to take ajob by them for nannying there son john that was nine I said I could and they sent me a 3,600 check I will not be cashing it I contacted and asked for the number of the place the kid will be staying they gave me a restaurants address and then they gave me this number to call and the check comes from a place in texas the supposed dad is in washington d.c and im in florida.Do not bother talking to these people you will end up having to pay back all the money.

i got a message from them too. i was selling my helicopter on craigslist. his email was [email protected]
