Got a recording along the lines of "This is Cardmember Services" and "there's no problem with your current account" and "press 1 to lower your payment". Spoke with a woman who answered the phone "Financial Services" and she informed me I'd "pressed 1 to take advantage of their offer". I asked for a number to call in case I get disconnected and she gave me 800-847-2911 which is Visa's Global Customer Assistance number (I'm sure they'd be thrilled to know their number is being given out by a scam company). After declining her offer and telling her I don't have any credit cards in my name, I requested that my cell number be removed from their call list and told her that it was already on the national DNC list. At that point she asked for my husband and I reminded her that the number that was dialed was a cell phone and it's illegal to use autodialers to tele-market to cell phones. She told me my number would be removed and hung up.
I received a call from this number and it was called Versa Debt. I didn't answer it as I've been receiving lots of telemarketing calls. When I tried to call it back after looking up the number here, it rang once and then nothing. Not a busy signal or anything. Weird. Not even ten minutes after that, I received a call from a National Group from a different area code, but it still makes me wonder if they're connected. I'm going to look that number up now.
