this 206 exchange is located in seatle there is a company that spoofs caller id in area code 206 it is a scam they are trying to get your cc #'s dont answer them
Caller ID says BW, they knew my name and address. Said I won something, but also thanked me for being a good credit card customer ... sounding like they were associated with one of my credit card companies! Told me I won a vacation (knew they were selling something or would want a credit card) and said they were sending "free" magazines ... this is when they verified my address. When I told them if they were going to want my credit card, I wasn't interested, he hung up on me! So I knew it was a scam then. I called the number back to ask to be put on their do not call list (even though I'm on the national one already) and got a mailbox full recording. Google search shows this is a real underhanded "company" ... danger!
woman called up and said that she got my name from card services and that because of my good history i was eligible for this magazine service. it went on from there, she asked me some questions next thing i know i am on the phone with a supervisor there telling me that i have to pay $3.83 a week for the next 60 months. i tell her i am not interested. she says it is too late to cancel and then tells me to have a nice day and hangs up on me. i need to know what i can do about this because i dont want to pay for this!!
If it shows up on your CC statement, call your card company and report it as fraudulent charges. You'll get your money credited and that company will be charged $60(ish).
Contact the credit card company amd tell them that you do not want them to PAY these people. Explain what happened. A similar thing happened to my wife. I had her stop any and all payments to said company.
